Cabbage: So much bang for your buck
Cabbage is packed with nutrients, a remedy for many health conditions and easy on your wallet. Enjoy eating cabbage raw in cole slaws or as a sandwich wrap, fermented as sauerkraut, and cooked in soups or stir-fries. One of my favorite easy recipes is to dice and then roast a head of cabbage with salt, pepper and butter! It can be used topically in face masks to ameliorate skin inflammation and acne. Cabbage is rich in Vitamin C, folate, potassium, magnesium, and vitamins A & K. Studies have shown cabbage to be an anti-inflammatory and an anti-oxidant and have various pharmacological properties against a wide range of diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hepatic diseases, gastrointestinal disorders and cancer.
